Key to Innovation and Business Opportunities : Geospatial Data

Geospatial data, which contains geographic information about the Earth's surface, is becoming increasingly important in various aspects of life. Erik Teguh Primiantoro, the Director of Forest Resource Inventory and Monitoring, emphasizes the importance of geospatial data literacy for optimal utilization.

"By understanding geospatial data, people can create innovation and utilize it for social and business development," says Erik. The Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) has provided spatial data through the SIGAP and SIMONTANA applications.

This data can be utilized for various purposes, ranging from forest mapping to transportation application development.

Young influencer Xaviera Putri also highlights the importance of data in daily life. She states that data can be utilized for research, making business decisions, and entertainment.

"We can access satellite data to understand the development of a region or use data to find the fastest and most cost-effective routes when traveling," explains Xaviera.
